4HM Limited: Sporting News
Milton Keynes, United Kingdom– 4HM’s SAM64 SDI to AES/MADI audio interface has been in action at many recent major sporting events. Multiple units were integrated into a flyaway system for the 14th FINA Swimming World Championships held in Shanghai (provided by Presteigne Charter) to provide BBC’s sports coverage. Other live sports broadcasts that employed the SAM64 have included international motorsports (including Formula One), extreme sports coverage (X Games), the Admiral’s Cup and international live football coverage (including the 2010 FIFA World Cup).
SAM64 de-embeds 16 audio channels from each of the unit’s four SDI inputs to provide a total of 64 audio channels in both MADI and AES3-id formats. All SDI inputs independently auto-sense between 3G, HD and SD and are provided with re-clocked loop-through connectivity for connection to down-stream equipment.
